Livestream Platform Veeps Launches on Apple TV, Roku and iOS

Streaming platform Veeps is expanding its suite of options for fans to tune into live shows. Today, the company founded by Good Charlotte’s Benji and Joel Madden has announced that Veeps will be available for free download on Apple TV, Roku, iOS, and Android.

Before today’s app launches, Veep’s content was only available on the streamer’s website. Now, Veeps has upgraded the phone and tablet experience to the quality of the site.

“We think that the future of concert streaming is fans in all corners of the globe having access to every tour, and getting concert streams natively into TVs and phones is a gamechanger for artists and their fans,” Joel Madden said in a release. “It puts Veeps shows right next to your favorite TV show, documentary or blockbuster movie and gives live concerts the same viewability and discoverability as any other type of premium content.”

The apps go live with an array of upcoming concerts including global dance superstar GALANTIS at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado, folk rock music duo Indigo Girls, Grammy-nominated Icelandic blues-rock band Kaleo (also live from Red Rocks), Kings of Leon’s upcoming sold out O2 Arena show in London, singer/songwriter LP at the Fillmore Philadelphia, Grammy-nominated artist Poppy from House of Blues San Diego, and Slash Ft. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators – Live From Boston show.

According to the platform, around 90% of Veeps ticket buyers of hybrid shows were not in the local market of the in-person concert, “indicating that streaming provides fans with greater access to their favorite artists.”

“Artists are already out there working and touring, so creating more opportunities for them to reach new and existing fans helps make the most of every tour,” Madden added. “And the quality of our apps and the new platform makes these shows premium experiences for fans watching on Veeps. With Live Nation we continue to build a network with global reach that will help artists continue to grow and we’re excited about where this is going.”

The app launches follow many other collaborations making the streaming platform more accessible as fans return to in-person concerts. Last year, Live Nation invested in the platform and, in April, announced they would be outfitting 60 venues for high quality Veeps livestreams. In March, Veeps also became the only concert streaming platform to be included in Verizon’s new concert and entertainment hub, +play.
