Sony Music Publishing Nashville Signs Madeline Edwards: Exclusive

Singer-songwriter Madeline Edwards has signed a global publishing agreement with Sony Music Publishing Nashville.

It’s been quite a journey or the California-born, Texas-raised Edwards, who made her national television debut on the CMA Awards last year, performing “Love My Hair” alongside Mickey Guyton and Brittney Spencer.

This year, Spotify placed her on its Hot Country 2022 Artists to Watch list and CMT named her as a member of its Next Women of Country class of 2022. NPR selected her as a top 20 Breaker artist and she has performed on Lady Gaga’s Born This Way tribute record alongside The Highwomen.

Sony Music Publishing Nashville CEO Rusty Gaston said in a statement, “True artists like Madeline don’t come along every day. It was obvious from our first meeting that she has a gift of revealing her heart in each song. We can’t wait for the world to discover what we’ve already gotten to experience.”

“I knew SMP was the right family for me the moment we connected. I’m very excited for this new chapter and the music I’ll be creating with this team,” said Edwards.

Edwards is on tour with Chris Stapleton’s All-American Road Show Tour, including his April 23 concert in Lexington, Ky., which raised more than $1 million for Kentucky charities.

In addition to opening shows for Stapleton, Edwards is working on her debut album and recently released songs including “Port City” and “The Road.” Edwards is booked by Wasserman and will perform on CMA Fest’s Maui Jim Reverb Stage on June 12.
