Executive Turntable: Capitol Taps Creative Heads, WMG Names GM of New Podcast Division

Targa Sahyoun and Nick Steinhard were named senior vps of creative at Capitol Records, based out of Hollywood. Reporting to CMG president Arjun Pulijal, Sahyoun and Steinhardt will co-lead the label’s creative department. Sahyoun will oversee music video and visual content production, while Steinhardt will oversee art direction.

Allan Coye, senior vp of ​​digital strategy and business development at Warner Music Group, takes on an additional role as gm of the company’s new podcast network, Interval Presents, which will produce multi-format audio content focused on music, pop culture and social impact. 

Rhiza Pascua was named managing director at Live Nation Philippines, as the entertainment company expands in Asia with the acquisition of Pascua’s Music Management International (MMI), a leading promoter in the country.

Steven Jenkins was hired as the first director of the Bob Dylan Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he will helm the Center’s exhibitions, public programs and daily operations. He can be reached at sjenkins@bobdylancenter.com.  

Safiya Lambie-Knight was promoted to head of music for Spotify U.K. and Ireland. Based out of London, she will oversee Spotify’s local network of editorial playlists and promotions.

Jackie Winkler was promoted to vp of A&R at Island Records. Based out of Los Angeles, she will continue to use her skills to find and foster talent. She reports to Island Records co-CEOs Imran Majid and Justin Eshak

Lauren Thomas was promoted to vp of promotion and artist development at Columbia Nashville. She takes on the role previously held by Shane Allen, who recently announced he is taking a sabbatical after six years at the helm of Columbia Nashville’s promotion team. Nick Bral was promoted to vp of the creative division at Sony Music Publishing based out of Los Angeles, where he will be responsible for managing songwriter relations and fostering creative collaboration on behalf of the company’s U.S. roster. He will also continue to advance songwriter discovery and development efforts. Bral will report to Jennifer Knoepfle, senior vp of the creative division.

Bryan Kehn was promoted to vp of media at Republic Records, where he will continue to strategize successful media campaigns for the label’s diverse roster of artists. He remains active on the Republic Records Action Committee (R2AC) Pride Team. 

The Canadian Musical Reproduction Rights Agency (CMRRA) announced the following new hires and promotions: Andrea England was promoted to associate director of publisher engagement and strategy, a newly created role. Marianne Anderson, publisher relations manager, joins England’s team. Eric Cohen was hired as industry relations consultant, Quebec. Michael Mackie was promoted to director of repertoire and client services. Nigel Barylewicz was promoted to assistant manager of repertoire and client services. Lauren Ali was promoted to the newly created role of associate director for licensee management (broadcast/digital) and operational support. Jennifer Bird now reports to Ali under the new title of supervisor of licensee management. Vicki Bonomo joins Ali’s team in a new role as licensee relations liaison. Laurie Gelbloom was promoted to general counsel. Andrew Hunter was promoted to manager of legal and business affairs. Sacha Isaacksz was hired as licensing and legal consultant. Sandra Nettleton was promoted to senior director of licensing and distribution operations.

Amani Duncan and Maria Fernandez have been appointed to the board of directors at the Fender Musical Instruments Corporation (FMIC), effective in May.

Ben Strain was promoted to senior creative director at MV2 Entertainment based out of Nashville, where he will continue to work with the company’s current roster, which includes Josh Thompson, Johnny McGurie, Forrest Finn, Andrew Stone, Joe Whelan and Blake Henderson. 

Paul Eastwood was hired as vp of sports and entertainment at Orderinbox, a new social NFT marketplace launching May 9. He will spearhead Orderinbox’s business development activities within sports, music and various entertainment spaces while leveraging his relationships. 

Kelly Walsh was promoted to vp at the Schneider Rondan Organization (SRO PR). Based out of Scottsdale, Arizona, she will oversee SRO PR’s new Phoenix office.
